Dr. Hudley has developed an aggression reduction curriculum, the BrainPower program, to improve peer relations in elementary school. This program has been designated a "Promising Program" by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency of the U.S. department of Health and Human Services. Her research on the development of the BrainPower program has been published in some of the leading academic journals in the country. Dr. Hudley serves as the Education Director for the Mayme Clayton Library and Museum. This /pro bono /community service work is consistent with the research program that she has established over the years to examine academic motivation and achievement in children, with an emphasis on African-American children. Dr. Cynthia Hudley is currently the Vice President of Division E, Counseling and Human Development) for the American Educational Research Association.
