Email: rosa.toro@tufts.edu

Rosa is a former ACE Center graduate student. Prior to starting her graduate studies, she attended the University of Southern California, during which time she participated in the implementation of a home and school emergent literacy intervention with families in the South Los Angeles area.  After working two years, post-undergraduate, she attended the University of California, Riverside.   During her tenure at UCR, she focused on household factors that affected the socio-emotional development of immigrant Latino school age children.  Specifically, she examined the effect that household density and household chaos has on child socio-emotional outcomes.  Additionally, for her doctoral dissertation, she focused on the effect of a parent-child acculturation gap on emotional, behavioral, and social competency adolescent outcomes.  Currently, Rosa is a Postdoctoral Associate at Tufts University working under the direction of Tama Leventhal, Ph.D.  They are currently in the drafting phase of a multi-city study, funded by the MacArthur Network, which seeks to examine the individual and interactive effects of household, environmental, and school quality on child development.
